SKATEBOARD Evolution and Art

While taking a stroll down main street Santa Monica today I finally stumbled in to check out the Skate Board exhibit at the California Heritage Museum. I was really surprised at the depth of the show. LOTS and lots of stuff. While I gave up skate boarding for football, fishing, women and motorcycles at a young age, it was like walking through a time machine of my generation. From making skate boards from old metal skates and 2x4's to skating barefoot with clay wheels, to 40lb sand paper and polyurethane. On top of the shear amount of pieces, it is really inspiring to know that most of these guys are still local. Totally worth the trip. Sorry for the blurry photos, I was being sneaky.
